As the Senior Drainage Engineer for our Orlando office, you will have the opportunity to work on and lead exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects. Each day, you will have the opportunity to work on and lead roadway and highway drainage for alignment studies, design concept reports, and final construction documents. Typical activities and assignments may include:
•Project Management of drainage design projects including managing budgets, schedule, managing subcontractors, and ensuring QA/QC of all deliverables.
•Performing hydraulic computations and providing detailed calculations, construction plan preparation, drainage report preparation, and specifications and estimates.
•Hydrology and hydraulic software used for typical projects include ICPR, HEC-RAS, HY8, Inroads Storm and Sanitary, HEC-HMS, SWMM5, Storm CAD, Geopak Drainage.
•Required to meet State and Federal requirements. You will have the opportunity to exercise judgment and make recommendations in the development and creation of transportation plans for complex, multi-disciplined projects.
•Manages, mentors, coaches and provides skill and career development for aligned staff
•Drives team to provide outstanding service and solutions to Clients
•Use established client relationships to assist with marketing and business development and project pursuits, writing Letters of Interest, presentations and client interface.
•Coordinate with FDOT, local agencies, project stakeholders and agencies to prepare project documentation
•Assuring effective utilization of engineering personnel and technical quality.
•Staff resource planning.
•Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
•A minimum of 10 years' experience working in roadway drainage design, flood-control and watershed modeling
• Florida PE license required
•Must have FDOT experience working on projects
•Familiarity with FDOT Drainage design manuals and preferred software
•Excellent oral and written communication skills is required and the ability to interface with other disciplines on projects is required.
