    The Sensors Department of the Electro-Optics Center of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL), located in Freeport, PA is seeking undergraduate or graduate students for intensive summer research opportunities.

    These opportunities cover a broad range of academic and engineering disciplines in many aspects of imaging, optics, lasers, remote sensing, and materials.

    Specifically, this assignment involves the prototyping and development of head-mounted, vehicle-mounted (UAS/UAV/drone), and stationary cameras and laser systems for visualization, mapping, or inspection/metrology in extreme environments.

    Rising seniors or graduate students studying Electrical Engineering, Imaging Science, Optics, or related are encouraged to apply.

    Applicants with a strong interest in and experience with the following will be given preference:
    • imaging systems
    • machine/computer vision
    • optics
    • some programming experience
    The successful candidate will work up to 40 hours per week over the summer. This is a paid internship located at ARL's Electro-Optics Center in Freeport, PA; relocation and housing are not provided.

    Candidate selected may be subject to a government security investigation. You must be a U.S. citizen to apply. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
