RN needed for Intermediate Surgical Care Unit (ISCU). This is a fast paced, 18-bed unit, for postoperative surgical patients requiring intermediate level of care, between the intensive care units and the acute care surgical units. We admit from more than 15 different services and types of patients include renal and liver transplants, trauma, orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastics and vascular.
The RN provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
The ISCU has also received the Beacon Award for Excellence designated by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). The AACN created the Beacon designation to recognize individual units that have set a path to excellence in an effort to highlight critical care units that distinguish themselves in every facet of patient care. Recipients of a Beacon designation demonstrate excellence in sustained unit performance and patient outcomes.
This is a 36 hour per week position, rotating shifts (7am-7:30pm and 7pm-7:30am) with self scheduling to meet the needs of the unit and the staff. This position qualifies for an extensive State benefit package including PTO hours accrued based on the number of hours hired to work.
Graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing. One (1) year of nursing (RN) experience. If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
