    Job Duties

    Responsibilities

    FOCUS (Families OverComing Under Stress) provides resiliency training to military families. The Resilience Trainer works at the MacDill Air Force Base in Florida and reports to the local Site Director. The incumbent: (1) facilitates the FOCUS model, a manualized family training intervention and group workshops for military parents and children; (2) uses computer data entry to complete and document individual intakes/orientations and assessments with family participants and service encounters; (3) assists with program outreach within the military community; (4) oversees and/or ensures tracking and monitoring families' participation in services, (5) completes short-term tracking of families that participate in the program; (6) attends training and supervision sessions.

    This project is funded by the United States Department of Defense - Office of the Secretary of Defense. By contract, this position is limited to U.S. citizens.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    Ph.D. or M.A. in Psychology or related fields.

    This project is funded by the United States Department of Defense - Office of the Secretary of Defense. By contract, this position is limited to U.S. citizens.

    Eligible for U.S. government security clearance of "secret."

    Experience in the area of family and/or child services.

    Experience and/or knowledge about working with military populations.

    Experience delivering family and/or children in individual and/or group settings.

    Experience working with children, teens and adults.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Ability to work effectively and closely with other members of the service team.

    Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

    Ability to work independently and report to the Site Director on a regular basis and in a timely manner.

    Must have valid driver's license, auto insurance and access to an automobile.

    Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access.

    Ability to work flexible hours.
