    Job Description

    Manages organizational HSE and compliance with local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations in Area of Responsibly (AOR). Partner with operations to implement regional HSE initiatives by providing technical assistance in the identification, evaluation, and control of workplace hazards.
    • Assist the Regional HSE Manager in SIP action plan creation and implementation
    • Assist Regional HSE Manger with start-ups
    • Manage participation on Sector and Business Unit calls
    • Monitor and provide expertise and assistance on Logics Management
    • Ensure that Root Cause Analysis is complete and accurate for all reported incidents
    • Participate on HSE projects as needed
    • Identify improvement opportunities and support the continuous improvement process
    • Manage special projects as assigned
    • Assist Regional HSE Manager in Compliance Assessments and Safety Management Systems Audits
    • Support DOT transportation compliance projects as needed
    • Make improvements to HSE polices and training materials as well as the HSE web pages
    • Provide HSE related input and review for RFP and contracts
    • Maintain, analyze, and report statistical data across all business units in the region
    • Assist with HSE communications tools such as training webinars and sector call communication materials
    Required Education and Experience
    • Associates degree in environmental, safety, industrial hygiene or related field or equivalent experience. (5 years safety or warehousing experience.), required
    • Bachelor's degree in environmental, safety, industrial hygiene or related field, preferred
    • Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), preferred
    • Industrial Hygiene (CIH), preferred
    • Certifiedor Associate Safety Professional (CSP or ASP)
    • Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), preferred
    • Certified Director of Safety (CDS) or Safety Supervisor (CSS), preferred
    • 3 years of experience managing HSE in an operational or functional support role, preferred
    • 1-3 years of warehouse/distribution/logistics experience, preferred
    • Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulatory environments, required
    • Working knowledge of hazardous material / dangerous goods regulations, preferred
    • Working knowledge of NESC, NFPA, ANSI, NHTSA, NATMI, etc., preferred
    • Considerable knowledge of behavioral-based safety principles and practices, required
    • Considerable knowledge of accident prevention and safety equipment, required
    • Working knowledge of HSE Risk Management loss prevention methods, required
