A Provider Investigations Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to area supervisor(s) and investigators. This position primarily provides assistance in the initiation of investigations by answering calls from DFPS Statewide Intake abuse hotline, making appropriate notifications to provider agencies in accordance with Texas Administrative Code and Provider Investigations policy, and assigning appropriate intakes to investigators. This position also is responsible for data entry, spreadsheet maintenance, filing, scanning, and other administrative duties.
Essential Job Functions:
Answers and screens inquiries concerning abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Uses critical thinking and sound judgement during the intake screening and routing process.
Performs data entry and records information for referral to investigators and supervisors.
Prepares and maintains case records and related correspondence.
Adheres to agency policy and procedure.
Communicates professionally and appropriately, via all communication mediums.
Promotes and demonstrates appropriate respect for cultural diversity.
Behaves ethically and adheres to HHSC Standards of Conduct.
Communicates program and agency information to stakeholders.

Initial Selection Criteria:
High School Diploma or GED
One year experience in administrative support.
30 semester hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required experience

Please note that while the posted salary range for this position is $2,031.29 to $2,904.91. The salary offered will follow HHS starting salary guidelines which are typically made at or near the minimum of the salary range.
