What this job involves
Due to growth in business we now have an opening for a highly motivated and technically sound Engineering Services Manager at a new premium 50,000 sqm commercial building located within a growing mixed-use precinct located in Melbourne's CBD. The second of three Commercial towers is due for completion in July 2020, and you will be required from for operational input & pre-onboarding of Customers, prior to managing the building operations post PC.
Reporting directly into the General Manager, and managing two direct reports, you'll be responsible for the on-going operation and compliance of the property as well as being directly accountable for all project and development works, budgets both operational and of a capital nature and strategic asset planning related to Engineering and Operations.
Your accountabilities will be around Sustainability, Risk Management, Contract Management, Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance, Budgets, Asset Planning, Tenancy Fit-outs and Staff Management
You'll also assist with preparing annual property operations & capital works budgets as well as the monitoring and updating of budgets on a quarterly basis.

You'll have proven operational experience in Engineering and Facilities Management in a similar commercial environment and critical to this role is your experience in, and an understanding of sustainability & NABERS. It is preferred that you have experience in working in new assets and managing to practical completion
Excellent communication skills are important- both written and spoken - and we'll expect you to work independently, multi-task, and manage your time to meet deadlines. Most importantly, you'll want to work as part of a diverse, supportive and talented team.
You will possess strong technical knowledge that was gained through a trade or engineering background. Also important, is strong PC literacy, a 'hands-on' work approach and willingness to learn and the capacity to lead, train and develop a small team.
Engineering accountabilities will include interpreting plans, drawings and specifications, and providing advice on engineering processes and procedures to achieve operational requirements. Along with overseeing maintenance requirements to optimise efficiency to achieve target goals across the Precinct.
