    Job Description

    The Plant Operations Manager will be responsible for a 153 bed hospital campus in West Orange, New Jersey

    Responsibilities

    A Plant Operations Manager manages plant operation services to ensure safe operating conditions and compliance with all state, federal and accrediting agencies at assigned campus. Plans, organizes and directs the operation of the Plant Operations Department, ensuring that efficient and effective services are provided while enhancing individual personnel and hospital objectives. As the campus safety officer, manages risk, coordinates risk reduction activities in the physical environment, collects deficiency information and disseminates summaries of actions and results. Intervenes whenever environmental conditions immediately threaten life or health or threaten to damage equipment or buildings.

    Qualifications

    High School or equivalent required. Trade or Vocational School and Technical school certificate preferred. Five or more years experience, including three or more years experience in a supervisory position in a health-care environment highly preferred. Looking for experience with Joint Commission Standards as they relate to environment / physical plant and all regulatory requirements, and have clear knowledge of building codes.

    Black Seal certificate highly preferred.

    Following bullet items highly desirable:
    • Possess an understanding of CMS and Joint Commission standards related to environment/physical plant and working knowledge of NFPA and building codes
    • Familiarity with electronic project management tools including AutoCAD
    • Responsibility to manage assessment and monitoring for interim life safety measures (ILSM) and infection control risk analysis (ICRA)
    • Competency with development and management of Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS)
    • Experienced in operation of HVAC Building Management Software (BMS) a plus
    • Experience with sewer treatment, industrial waste water, or drinking water operator licenses a plus
    • Certified Health-Care Facility Manager (CHFM) designation is a plus
