    Job Title:Cloud Engineer

    Job Description: We are looking for an analytical, results-driven Cloud Engineer in support of a fast-paced concentrated effort at a large Federal Agency to support IT Modernization and data migration for high priority IT systems. The candidate will design, plan, and integrate cloud computing and virtualization systems. In addition, the candidate will use sound software engineering and cloud resource provisioning principles to provide detailed information for hardware and software selection, cloud service provider selection, implementation techniques, application and data migration techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.

    Perform transparent transition from on premise storage to cloud storage by employing end-to-end application development life cycle using AWS CI/CD tools.

    Provide systems engineering activities, such as proof of concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecting, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, and validation and verification.

    Provide software development support to translate the enterprise's strategy for legacy system upgrade/migration to the desired future state, including support of both the development and execution of a transition plan.

    Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

    Develop and conduct testing of cloud and virtualization systems.

    Maintain technical expertise relevant to industry standards and in cloud computing and virtualization technologies, such as cloud service provider architecture, design and configuration, self-provisioning, and scaling.

    Experience in cloud deployment models (including public, community, private, and hybrid) and cloud service delivery models (including infrastructure-, platform-, and software-as-a-service).

    Experience in hypervisors, containers, virtual compute, storage, and networks, virtual infrastructure management, self-provisioning, and scaling.

    Perform system integration, system and operations performance analysis,lifecycle cost analysis and estimation, decision analysis, and physical configuration analysis (PCA).

    Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.


    Required Skills

    Minimum 5 years of experience developing comprehensive and innovative technical solutions with at least 2 years of experience with Amazon, Microsoft, or Google cloud solutions.

    Experience with cloud migration, implementation, AWS services, FedRAMP, and system integration capability.

    Experience with AWS-provided streaming tools, such as Amazon Kinesis Data Streams (Kafka) and Amazon Kinesis Firehose.

    Experience with automation technologies, such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Selenium, Jenkins, Nexus, and Docker.

    Experience working with software DevOps Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes and tools (Jenkins, Cucumber).

    Experience in performing significant research and development efforts or managing programs requiring comprehensive and innovative technical solutions.

    Agile software development process experience. Self-motivated team player who will collaborate across a multi-disciplined team environment.

    Strong troubleshooting skills and persistence to resolve issues.

    Ability to analyze data using Splunk, the log aggregation platform, identified potentials for automated data management and correction, and App Dynamics to monitor data flow performance.

    Effective interpersonal skills and committed to providing superior customer service.

    In-depth Linux administration and configuration skills.

    Strong scripting skills (Perl, bash, Python, Ruby).

    Experience in developing REST services using RESTful, JAXWS, and Axis.

    Experience in at least one of the following configuration management tools: PVCS, subversion and build automation tools, such as Ant, Maven, Build Forge, or similar.

    Experience in at least one of the following integrated development environments: Eclipse, IBM RAD, JDeveloper, or any IDE.

    Desired: AWS and Java certifications is a plus.

    Clearance: Able to obtain Public Trust. Prior or Active Public Trust is a plus.

    Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline.
