Global Ingredient Business Manager - Decatur, IL
This is a full time, exempt level position
ADM has evolved into the supplier of choice for over 1,000 quality food ingredients and is a leading producer of consistently reliable, high-performing products for a diverse group of industries.
This global position will be integral in the expansion of our soy isoflavones and plant sterols businesses, developing midterm and long term strategic plans, and have the opportunity to collaborate with various teams within ADM: sales, marketing, R&D, technical services, regulatory, legal and business optimization.
Successfully expand global soy isoflavones and plant sterols product portfolio
Lead development of product line strategy working closely with management
Coordinate and develop strategic, financial, short and long-term plans
Responsibilities include maximizing market value of our product offerings, while developing, promoting and implementing the sales and marketing strategies
Establish goals and objectives and guide the business during stable or changing market conditions and collaborate in order to reach those goals
Drive profitability optimization of product line by partnering with sales and marketing areas to ensure revenue and profits are maximized for branded products
Identify and understand key drivers for markets which your product lines serve, using this information to maximize EVA
Manage prices and price discovery
Financial analysis of the businesses
Develop intimate understanding of competitive market dynamics at supplier, customer and consumer level
Develop and maintain competitive analysis materials comparing product line with its key competitors from raw material, production, cost and quality perspective
Maintain communications and contacts to collect and analyze technical, financial and sales information for product lines
Understand the global supply and demand for the product lines in order to make sound decisions.
Identify and understand key drivers for markets in which the product lines serve
Secure and communicate market information/intelligence to help understand the global marketplace of the product lines
Analyze market information and report trends.
Identify new opportunities through new product ideas and market expansion
Manage and execute special projects that develop as the market changes and expands
Coordinate product value propositions development with marketing and analysis to support positioning
Lead team consisting of multiple functions to achieve product line growth and profitability goals on a global basis
Provide leadership to drive development of new products, supply chain strategy and collaborative efforts in and outside of ADM, managing all phases of the business through to approval and implementation
Work with specialists to develop intellectual property strategy that maximizes product life cycle
Collaborate with legal and regulatory to identify and prioritize global regulatory approvals to expand geographic reach
Drive sales through successful collaboration with ADM sales force, business optimization, technical services as well as R & D
Effectively utilize ADM Research and Technical Services to support our customer's current and future needs
Drive innovation projects related to the product lines (R&D)
Support global sales force by providing product information and addressing specific customer needs.
Drive new value added partnerships
Increase brand equity by building consumer and customer awareness
Ideal candidate must have a bachelor's degree, minimum 3 years of business experience, excellent communication skills, excellent analytical skills, a basic understanding of the ingredient business, and be willing to learn the scientific aspects of the products. Proficient in using Microsoft Office. The position requires approximately 20% travel and a strong work ethic.
