    Registered Therapist II

    Performs complex rehabilitative therapy work in a social learning environment. Work involves instructing clients in rehabilitation therapeutic activities and administering and directing a therapeutic program that adheres to the principles of social learning. Work involves supervision of staff, establishing program goals and objectives, developing program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules and regulations; developing schedules, job descriptions, priorities and standards for achieving program goals; and evaluating program activities. Services are provided directly and/or indirectly through assessment, intervention, and documentation. The Registered Therapist II will perform administrative duties and consult with Rehab personnel and other professionals in implementing rehabilitative programs in accordance with the mission statement of the facility. Formulates, implements and documents music/recreation therapy treatment (groups and/or individualized treatment) as indicated. Communicates with supervisor to ensure appropriate delivery of programming. Provides inservice training to staff as assigned. Serves on the ATD Leadership Team and other committees as assigned by supervisor. Provides services to BSSH patients under the administrative supervision of the Registered Therapist III and ATD Program Director.

    Essential Job Functions:
    Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned
    Serves as Registered Therapist: conducts/coordinates therapy groups, maintains certification/license, attends continuing education workshops, participates in conferences for treatment planning, completes program specific assessments as needed, updates policies and procedures as appropriate
    Provides departmental inservice training
    Assists in training new staff
    Participates in conferences for treatment planning
    Supervises the work of others

    Knowledge Skills Abilities:
    Ability to learn/practice good team interaction and management skills
    Knowledge of supervision techniques
    Ability to demonstrate appropriate and effective written and verbal communication skills
    Ability to implement therapeutic programs and modify treatment within scope of licensure requirements
    Knowledge of mental illness
    Basic computer knowledge

    Registration or Licensure Requirements:
    Registration/Certification/Licensure is required for this position. Music Therapy or Therapeutic Recreation is preferred, though other therapeutic specialties will be considered.

    Initial Selection Criteria:
    Current MT-BC, CTRS, LPC or similar licensure
    Graduation from an accredited college or university program with major coursework in one of the recognized therapeutic activities
    Experience working in psychiatric setting preferred

    The salary offered will follow HHS starting salary guidelines which are typically made at or near the minimum of the salary range.
