    The WestRock paper mill in Eaton, Indiana is seeking qualified candidates to fill the Production General Labor Position in the production department. This is a demanding entry level, hourly position where advancement in operations is expected.

    This position operates on a rotating, 8-hour (up to 12 hours) swing shift schedule 7 days and nights per week. A Production General Laborer will begin employment under a 45-day probationary period. Upon successfully completing this probationary period, the General Laborer will be eligible for benefits and retirement programs.

    An example of the monthly shift is as follows:

    7am-3pm - 7 days in a row
    4 days off
    3pm-11pm - 7 days in a row
    1 day off
    11pm-7am - 7 days in a row
    2 days off

    How you will impact WestRock

    Performs inspections on various equipment for proper operation and report questionable conditions

    Performs various housekeeping, cleaning, and organizing functions with minimal supervision to ensure areas are clean and free from debris

    Physical handling of rejected product.

    Prioritizes work and takes appropriate action to ensure paper machine remains operational

    Loading trucks with finished product

    Unloading bales from wastepaper truck

    What you need to succeed

    High school diploma or GED required

    Strong commitment to working safe, good communication skills, a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment

    Ability to safely operate various manufacturing equipment, follow specific directions, operate power hand tools, and other duties as assigned.

    Ability to work safely, comply with all safety rules, lift, push or pull >50lbs, navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift.

    Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment on shift.

    Advanced experience driving a forklift

    History of exceptional attendance record with past employers.

    Ability to work in extreme hot and cold conditions.

    Ability to read a tape measure (to 1/32" measurement) and basic math and computer skills.

    Strong desire to learn manufacturing processes and operating complex machinery and have a desire to advance within the company
