    Job Description Summary

    EAOS Project
    As a Middleware/AWS Engineer, will require development solutions that are highly innovative, and achieved through research and integration of best practices. Influence development of solutions that impact strategic project/program goals and business results while also leading work of other technical staff.

    This role will resolve highly complex problems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation. This role will interact daily with technical resources which are fulfilling technical requirements for the customer. This role's goal will be to work with all stakeholders to help ensure delivery of high-quality, robust and scalable solutions with minimal business impact.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    •Resource performs all aspects of technical operations; builds, software installation and upgrades, patching, security, system responsiveness, scaling, troubleshooting, reliability and monitoring
    •Technical Operations
    •Researches and implements system configuration changes related to project needs and security best practices
    •Evaluates new technology and tools
    •Performs Capacity Monitoring/ Planning
    •Supports Architectural Design analysis and Changes
    •System Monitoring to prevent system issues - Cloud Watch, Nagios, Splunk or Uptime Robot Alerts
    •Plans weekly updates, validation, restarts for routine preventative maintenance
    •Resizing instances, building images, building new instances, AWS or CCS network changes (AnyConnect), CPM support
    •Plan and implement patching related to security vulnerabilities
    •Primary technical resource plans and implements regular 3rd party patching, minor upgrades, hotfixes, patches - GitHub, Drupal, Tomcat, etc.
    •Writes scripts (Ansible, system, AWS cli and bash shell) to perform system tasks such as config changes, system startup, admin password resets
    •Updates configurations and binaries in repositories GitHub) and tracks changes in Jira,
    •Primary technical resource for Drupal and MySQL administration, patching and issue resolution
    •Primary technical resource for Akamai profile changes, IP whitelisting, certificate
    •Primary individual to perform RHEL O/S activities on instances; adding disk space, users, log review
    •Primary individual supports scheduled maintenance of the environment;
    •Extensive experience in managing resources in AWS Cloud environment
    •Supports Ad-hoc requests - Subject 7, installing and configuration of new tools (Word to PDF, Ivanti, Proxy, Burp Suite), DevOps Accelerator or Pega Design Reviews
    •Influence development of solutions that impact strategic project/program goals and business results while also leading work of other technical staff.
    •Identifies risks and opportunities, mitigates unknown risks around infrastructure, DevSecOps, operations and maintenance
    •Problem resolution of complex problems using deep technical knowledge and experience
    •Provide support for all Incidents - tier 3, EACMS outages until system has returned to service Incident Resolution
    •Provides support to tier 2 application issues as needed
    •Manages and oversees infrastructure, operations and maintenance including scheduling, facilitating meetings and material preparation
    •Participate and review project plans and schedules
    •Reports, tracks open issues and actions items in Jira
    •Provides status & statistical reporting for the weekly status and monthly deep dives
    •Maintains AWS spreadsheet which captures storage and instance information per environment
    •Supports DevSecOps Transition initiatives
    •Support Security Audits
    •Provides access to test team
    •Support Quality Process Audits
    •Provide deliverables to QA team
    •Participate in QA Plan/Audit
    •Maintains Process Documentation
    •Provide process evidence
    •Participate in interviews
    •Influence development of solutions that impact strategic project/program goals and business results while also leading work of other technical staff.
    •Automate processes to streamline workflows.

    Education and Experience Requirements
    •BS degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience. Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
    •AWS Solutions Architect Certification or AWS SysOps Administrator Certification

    •Experience working with AWS programmatically via the CLI, Tools, or SDK.
    •Experience architecting interconnectivity of Virtual Private Clouds (VPC) in a multi-account scalable fashion
    •Experience with configuration management of Cloud based resources
    •Experience bootstrapping and automating the build of complete environments
    •Experience with automating various processes end-to-end.
    •Knowledge of product development and the ability produce reusable and consistent solutions
    •Good - Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
    •Ability to manage conflict effectively.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    - Responsible for the computer systems analysis, requirements analysis, modeling, configuration, monitoring and support for mission-critical applications supporting enrollment and call center operations.
    - Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
    - Provide 3rd level support for operations to resolve critical issues quickly. This may include occasional off-hours and weekend work and periodic on-call support.
    - Provide training and mentoring to others to help them be successful in a system support role.
    - Lead the monitoring and testing of application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
    - Create and maintain documentation including standard operating procedures, work instructions, system diagrams.
    - Work closely with business and systems analysts to define system requirements to meet both internal and external customer needs.
    - Drive system improvements that optimize the quality, performance, and growth metrics for the enrollment and call center operations.
    - Facilitate and oversee meetings with the testing and QA teams to formulate test strategies, test plans, and test cases particularly for load/stress testing scenarios.
    - Provide status updates to manager, and project manager on project progress, challenges, issues, and end-user satisfaction.
    - Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks.
    - Write and maintain custom scripts to increase efficiency and reduce effort for maintenance, monitoring and trouble-shooting tasks.
    - Perform other duties as assigned by management.

    Minimum Requirements:
    - Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
    - Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
    - Exercises judgement in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
    - Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
    - Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel as a team lead.
