MISSION: We provide communities with healthy alternatives to fitness and socializing through the experience of climbing.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Primary responsibility is to serve as a coach for both the Club and the team while abiding by all safety guidelines. Perform any other duties as directed by management.
EXAMPLES OF WORKED PERFORMED: Use excellent customer relations. Serve as an on-duty climbing instructor. Perform safety checks of climbing wall (Safe Sport Certified required) as well as notifying all maintenance issues to the Closing Supervisor or Operations Manager. Must maintain a USA Climbing Coach membership. Responsible for creating and maintaining relationships of their team, as well as keeping all clients aware up upcoming events and schedules; Conduct orientation for new members, provide tours for new or potential members; teach members climbing techniques and skills. Employee will also work as receptionist while not serving as an instructor answering phones and emails, as well as social media questions from members or potential members; Ensure facility is in the best possible condition, reporting all maintenance issues as soon as possible, regularly cleaning equipment and facility. Must maintain necessary certifications as required in the Employment Standards below. Perform any other duties as directed by management.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: CWI-LEAD certified through CWA or AMGA; Boom Lift Certified; USA Climbing Route Setter Level 1 or higher; Safe Sport Certified required; Must maintain a USA Climbing Coach membership; Microsoft office knowledge; Mindbody experience preferred; excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver's license with no more than 2 moving violations and 1 chargeable accident in the last three years. Knowledge of employment, safety, and merchandise handling procedures.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS: To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, an employee must be able to perform the following: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, talking, hearing/listening and repetitive motion.
Heavy Work: Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
Work Environment: Indoor climate controlled environment.
