    Job Description

    Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) seeks an Asscoiate Systems Engineer for a fast-paced, growing, dynamic position supporting two exciting business lines in Orlando, Florida. The NGDS Live & Synthetic Air Domain Network (L&SADN) unit and the Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Ground Systems (SGS) unit are industry leaders in developing, integrating, and sustaining complex systems for the US Department of Defense (DoD). The L&SADN systems support simulation and training programs for the US Air Force, enabling a worldwide distributed mission training capability over secure networks. The SGS systems provide a myriad of solutions to support satellite command and control programs for the US Army.
    Associate Systems Engineer primary responsibilities are:
    - Perform technical planning, requirements analysis and development, cost and risk tradeoff analyses, and supportability
    and effectiveness analyses for total systems
    - Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition
    studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
    - Review and analyze system requirements and identify impacts to the appropriate requirements and/or design
    specifications
    - Support system specification updates and associated performance enhancements and interface development/upgrade
    efforts
    In addition, the candidate must be a team player, able to work comfortably and effectively with company team members
    as well as program stakeholders and DoD contractor personnel using strong verbal, written, and interpersonal
    communications skills. Also, the candidate may be required to travel in support of customer interface, technical
    interchange meetings, on-site technical support, and event/exercise support.


    Qualifications :

    Basic Qualifications:

    - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in the field of Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or

    STEM major with GPA of 3.0

    - US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance

    - Experience working within formal engineering & development processes for the development of complex systems

    - Ability to compose materials such as detailed reports, work-related manuals, publications

    - Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions

    - Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

    Preferred Qualifications:
    - Active US DoD Secret clearance
    - Demonstrated Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
    - Experience with Cameo or MagicDraw
    - Experience working in an Agile Environment
    - Certified Agile Scrum Master
    - Experience with project management tools (e.g. Jira, other Atlassian tools)
    - Experience performing computer system and software performance analysis
    - Experience with distributed simulation protocols such as DIS, HLA, TENA
    - Experience with deployment of DoD Systems such as IFF, Radar Systems, Radio Communications, Data Links,
    Munitions, Electronic Warfare, Aircraft Representation
    - Experience with Rational DOORS or equivalent requirements management tool
    - Understanding of radio frequency (RF) theory as it relates to both communications and radar
    - Familiarization with computer networking and cyber security principles and practices
    - Familiarization with DoD SATCOM operations, concepts and ground stations
