    Job Description

    Northrop Grumman seeks a Computer Systems Analyst to work in Cleveland, Ohio under the GEARS support service contract with the NASA Glenn Research Center. The selected candidate shall support an existing research and engineering application support infrastructure with over 100 research and engineering applications and an associated IT support environment in support of the NASA GRC. Responsibilities shall include but are not limited to:

    • Recommending and revising computer systems specifications and compatibility requirements that fit with IT system architecture standards addressing research and engineering applications
    • Remote and on premise user support
    • Installation and documentation of engineering applications
    • Troubleshooting and recommending changes to software and other computer hardware in office and lab environments
    • Plotter, printing and document scanning support as needed
    • Coordination with outsourced commodity IT providers
    • Providing input and responding to IT Security mitigation
    • Planning and development of the engineering application environment
    • Reporting of issues and project status to management
    • Recommending and executing data management techniques
    • Performing shared administration of virtual and physical servers as it relates to research and engineering application management
    .


    Qualifications :

    Basic Qualifications:

    •BS Computer Information Systems/Computer Science degree or equivalent
    •Education: 2 year degree / Microsoft Certifications (MCP)
    •Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience

    •Strong interpersonal skills and verbal communication
    •Creative and critical thinking, problem analysis and problem solving, and strong customer service skills
    •Experience installing non-commodity applications at the user desktop (i.e. engineering and analysis applications)
    •Expert in Microsoft operating systems including Windows 10 and Windows 2016 server
    •Skilled in basic desktop/laptop hardware and computer based network troubleshooting
    •Strong understanding in the use of the Microsoft Office suite
    •Familiar with AWS offerings and other Cloud based solutions.
    •U.S. citizenship
    • Preferred Qualifications:
      •Experience supporting a research or engineering environment
      •Ability to prioritize individual task list to resolve issues in timely fashion
      •Knowledge of network and information security (cybersecurity) and how to configure software applications to meet governance requirements
      •Working knowledge of Mac and Linux OS including RedHat and CentOS
