    Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal/Sr.Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in either Palmdale or El Segundo, CA.

    The Principal/Sr.Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of Advanced Planning & Material Requirements Planning for Special Programs.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Defines and develops material strategy. Responsible for the assessment of supply resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements; plans inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough-cut capacity for all products.
    • Participates in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management. Analyzes and aggregates supply / demand requirements.
    • Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools. Plans inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements. Assesses rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements.
    • Creates/reduces supply requirements based on inventory adjustments. Participates in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs.
      Creates/releases requisitions. Receives/reviews requirements for non-standard parts. Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements.
    • Communication with Engineering, Program Management, Operations, Factory Specialists and other organizations is required to be proficient in this position.
    • In addition to managing future requirements plans to support multiple Production Customers, the candidate will play a key role in collaborating with other functions in the Planning, Requirements & Delivery organization where duties will include reviewing requirements for execution, analyzing lead times, identifying critical path procurement strategies.
    • In order to be successful, the candidate must possess the ability to independently develop solutions to a variety of complex problems.

    Qualifications :

    This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist level or Sr. Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist level.

    Basic Qualifications for a Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist are:
    • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years, Master's Degree and 4 years, OR 10 years of relevant combined work experience (in lieu of a degree) in any of the following: Business; Supply Chain; Program Management; Project Management; Program Scheduling; Program Cost Analysis; Subcontracts Administration; Procurement; Engineering; or Manufacturing Engineering.
    • Proficiency in SAP or similar software
    • Active DoD Secret Clearance (with investigation in the last 5 years)
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Proficiency using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Experience managing suppliers through the following: cost/schedule/quality.
    • Proficient in using SAP/MRP systems for material and finance data analysis.
    • Experience with Critical Path Management, FAR and DFAR.
    Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist are:
    • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years, Master's Degree and 8 years, OR 14 years of relevant combined work experience (in lieu of a degree) in any of the following: Business; Supply Chain; Program Management; Project Management; Program Scheduling; Program Cost Analysis; Subcontracts Administration; Procurement; Engineering; or Manufacturing Engineering.
    • Proficiency in SAP or similar software
    • Active DoD Secret Clearance (with investigation in the last 5 years).
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Proficiency using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
