Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Senior PrincipalElectronics Engineer, Mixed Signal - Digital based out of McClellan, CA in the Sacramento area or San Jose, CA.

What You'll get to Do:
As a Mixed Signal /Analog Electrical Design Engineer you will join our Hardware Engineering team. Design, develop and test mixed signal/analog components, circuits and circuit card assemblies, high voltage power supplies and high voltage circuit cards for high reliability applications. Familiarity with the development of high-voltage isolation, noise immune circuits and circuit card assemblies utilized in noisy co-located equipment environments. Applications include red/black encrypted network separation, RF signal isolation, spurious signal issues, crosstalk, analog vs digital noise immunity, high-voltage safety etc. This position will perform design, documentation and delivery of analog CCAs and modules. The right candidate will have the skills to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts to complex problems. The work contributes to the development of new principles and concepts for Next Generation Systems.
This position works under guidance and direction toward predetermined goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated and the individual will determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. The work is checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review of supervisor. The impact of this effort is in developing advanced technological ideas and guides the development into a final product.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Perform technical analysis and design:
oPerform trade studies on system upgrades and hardware replacements.
o Perform Analog, RF, and System Hardware analysis/development as directed by Program Managers/team leaders.
o Review chassis, CCA, component identification/selection, system test data for design requirements.
o Develop/review PWB and CCA designs in Mentor Graphics VX2.2
o Design for high voltage/wattage embedded power supplies distribution and protection circuitry
o Support and conduct developmental testing (breadboard/concept verification)
o Support production testing and production builds
Support EMI testing/mitigation and EMC compliance reporting
Attend/Support ERB/CCBs, review and approve documents and provide hardware support as needed
Support production testing of deliverable HW.
Collaboratively work on multidisciplinary engineering team(s).
This position could require travel up to 25%.
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 9+ years' experience in the technical field of electrical engineering, or Masters Degree in a STEM discipline and 7+ years of experience in the technical field of electrical engineering
Experience with design, development, testing of mixed signal circuits using PSPICE (or equivalent)
Experience with design, development, testing of high speed digital circuits
US citizen and have the capability to receive and hold a TS/SCI or SA clearance
Experience design, development, testing of high voltage power circuits (IEC61010 or UL1262 or equivalent)
Working user knowledge of PTC Windchill or Siemens TeamCenter PLM
Familiarity with AS9100
Working knowledge of system testing and integration
Experience in tools such as DOORS, Microwave Office, Matlab, (P)Spice
Experience using Mentor Graphics (VX2.2)
Experience EMI/EMC/TEMPTEST compliance and reporting
Experience with Mentor VX2.2 for schematic capture, CCA design, circuit simulation, and using Python tools for design/test
Good oral and excellent written communications skills
Ability to work with little direct supervision, self-motivated, self-starting
Experience in maintaining / reporting status of program activities while collaborating with employees within the department and across functions
Familiarity with design and test of optoelectronic systems, optical test instrumentation, and digital modulation theory
Currently hold TS/SCI or SA clearance with current poly
