    AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern - Water Supply / Treatment to be based in Chelmsford, MA.

    This position is expected to begin May 2020.

    Employee will be training with an existing multi-disciplinary design team engaged in the preparation of a detailed design package for a bulk water supply expansion, including new wellfields, raw & finished water conveyance pipelines, and an advanced water purification plant to be located in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

    The detailed design (90%, 100%) will include drawings (plan/profile/details), specifications, and calculations.

    Employee may be asked to interpret regulations and design standards to inform other members of the technical team. Under the guidance of discipline leads, the employee may be asked to perform QA/QC of work performed by other team members or subcontractors.

    Employee may be expected to assist in design tasks, such as evaluation, selection, and sizing of chemical dosing equipment (chemicals, tanks, pumps, piping, motors) for the proposed Advanced Water Purification Plant.

    Translation of drawings and supporting documents will be required. Translation may be from Mongolian to English, or English to Mongolian.

    Employee is anticipated to be on-call, part-time, and have the flexibility to provide quick response to translation requests and discrete design tasks.

    This position doesn't offer relocation assistance.

    Minimum Requirements
    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related field with the intent to return to school after the internship.
    • Must have completed one year of study, matriculating in an engineering program.
    • Minimum of 2 years in written/spoken Mongolian and English is required.
    Preferred Qualifications

    Mongolian-English Translation of written Engineering Technical work in an ACEC firm
