Description:This position is an opportunity with the historic Skunk Works to develop and author technical publications for complex military aeronautics systems. It draws on your experience developing military aeronautics technical publications, with an emphasis in illustrated parts breakdown manuals. Focused experience with Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMS), preferably in S1000D format, adds value to the project. Ability to effectively work with multiple engineering, software, supportability, and logistics disciplines will lead to success in developing technical publications.
The successful candidate will have general experience and knowledge of aircraft supportability and maintainability procedures and processes, and will be able to leverage that experience in planning and decision-making. Working independently, you will coordinate all tasks to sustain U-2 Illustrated Parts Data technical manuals, incorporate Publication Change Requests submitted by engineers, maintainers, logistics support and Air Force personnel, and prepare block cycle update electronic deliveries. In addition, you will participate in company councils to develop and improve a unified parts catalog database system, and implement improvements to the digital technical manual.
You must be a US Citizen, as the position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Experience in the preparation and maintenance of Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPC) or Illustrated Parts Breakdown (IPB) Manuals.
Expertise with digital authoring tools; EPIC, Isodraw, Astoria.
Skill developing and modifying technical illustrations.
Familiarity with U-2 airframe and systems.
Familiarity with digital publishing of IPCs or IPBs.
Air Force tech order system requirements.
