Description:Lockheed Martin needs extraordinary people who are passionate about working on cutting-edge design or technology. The selected candidate will be a technical staff member for laboratory software development within the LM Aeronautics Labs and Technical Services (L&TS) Simulation Team, involved in the design, development and integration of low-to-medium fidelity models (such as aircraft weapon, sensor, environment and threat models); real-time simulation and/or infrastructure software in support of simulation and system integration labs in various high order software languages (C++, Ada, Java, etc..).
Labs & Technical Services is a highly innovative organization, responsible for developing and maintaining manned aircraft weapon simulation systems utilized for weapons systems development from concept design through production and delivery. Within our organization resides an extensive selection of simulators and software/systems integration test capabilities, including low-cost rapid prototyping concept development systems, full-dome handling qualities simulations, high-fidelity multi-ship, real-time, man-in-the-loop simulation systems, and hardware-in-the-loop mission systems and vehicle systems integration venues. We build these products for the F-35, F-22, F-16, C-130J, C-5, and other aircraft platforms. Our products are used to advance weapon systems development, strengthen pilot familiarization, assess human factors, evaluate aircraft control laws, improve mission study effectiveness, provide test capabilities required for contract verification and provide integration testing and verification capabilities for aircraft systems and software.
Selected candidate may operate and maintain existing laboratory venues. Assignments may change over time as required by the organization. Initial assignment will likely involve development, integration, documentation, test and debugging of airframe, aircraft system and avionics software models that contain logical and mathematical solutions for experimental, developmental and production aircraft in computer languages for solutions by means of data processing. Must be able to apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the development life cycle, locate and correct programing errors, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and an interim Secret security clearance to start. Final approval of these security clearances is dependent upon the Department of Defense (DoD) and could take some amount of time to be granted. During this waiting period, the work assignments directly related to this position may be limited. Therefore, auxiliary organization work assignments will be provided.
