    Job Description

    Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie, TX to join the Precision Fires Manufacturing Engineering team supporting the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) system. The program is in the development phase where concepts are created, designs are involving, trade studies are performed, advanced technologies are tested, and preparations are made ahead of production. The primary mission of this team is to ensure new designs are producible (Design for Manufacturing / Assembly) in a full rate manufacturing environment at a competitive cost (Design to Cost), while also meeting current scoped requirements.
    This role will collaborate with Program Leadership (Program Managers, IPT Leads, Chief Engineers), cross-functional support (Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Finance, Production Planning and Control, and Master Planning), as well as various levels of functional team members and leaders to ensure program objectives are being met and brief them on risks to those objectives. It can also involve developing or maturing manufacturing readiness assessments, creating manufacturing plans, make or buy analysis, presenting at various design and manufacturing reviews, travel to various manufacturing facilities including suppliers and other Lockheed sites to support testing and hardware or tooling related issues that may arise. Experience building positive relationships, communicating across functional and physical boundaries, managing cost, schedule, quality and safety is critical for the role.
    Basic Qualifications:
    -Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline or equivalent combination of experience and education.
    -Ability to obtain a security clearance
    -Experience with Manufacturing / Assembly / Production processes
    -Experience in machining, welding, casting, and/or mechanical assembly
    -Ability to interpret drawings, CAD models, product/performance specifications and other systems integration technical data
    -Proven ability to improve cost, schedule, quality and/or safety
    -Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including team building, collaboration and developing enduring business relationships
    -Ability to work independently and as a group with little guidance.
    -Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
    -Ability to liaison between LM Subcontractors, internal disciplines, and Production Operations
    -Demonstrated effective communication skills including verbal, listening, technical writing and presentations -Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
    -Ability to travel domestic and/or international
    -Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex
    Desired Skills:
    -Experience with development programs
    -Experience in design for manufacturing / assembly or design to cost
    -Experience Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
    -Demonstrated competency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
    -Previous experience implementing change to improve processes
    -Experience with leading
    -Knowledge of the SAP MRP production control system
    -Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
    -Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical people
    -Earned Value Management System Cost Account Manager (EVMS CAM) experience or the ability to become CAM trained
    -Proposals / estimating experience
    -Current Active Secret Clearance
