    Job Description

    Your ResponsibilitiesSummary The Payroll Specialist will review, audit and assist with payroll across our U.S. and Canadian locations. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this person will also participate in key projects and process improvement initiatives. Duties & Responsibilities •Participate in regular weekly/bi-weekly/monthly on cycle payroll processes to ensure on time and accurate payroll deliverables •Collaborates with accounting to resolve payroll general ledger account variances •In-depth investigation and analysis to determine the root cause of payroll problems •Design, testing and implementation of enhancements & improvements to payroll and other HR Operation processes •Monitor and implement new payroll controls to ensure accuracy, validity, and reasonableness of the payroll process •Create and maintain workflows and documentation of payroll processes •Ensure payroll inquiries and reported issues are resolved and communicated in a timely fashion •Support internal and/or external requests for payroll data via use of on premise reporting tools •Lead payroll team through cyclical processes like bonus processing, long term incentives, merit increases, year-end activities etc. •Ensure validity and timing of integration of data with payroll vendors Your ProfileQualifications & Skills •Understanding of pay calculations, payroll processes, pay standards and wage and hour laws •Experience with ADP e-Time and/or Kronos desired; •Experience with HCM enterprise platforms such as SAP HCM, PeopleSoft, Oracle, Workday preferred •CPP Certification preferred •Strong analytical and problem solving skills •Ability to think critically and who will question the status quo •Strong ability to collaborate with other team members •Superior written and verbal communication skills; •Proven excellent attention to detail and a high level of confidentiality •Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks •Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required •Strong knowledge of accounting related to payroll processing •5+ years of accounting and/or payroll processing experience •Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or equivalent work experience required
