Be a part of the Commerce Data Lake team, building the Commerce Intelligence Platform, to enable analytics of Microsoft's diverse range of commerce from Xbox to Azure, Office to Windows and retail to ecommerce. We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build Native Azure solutions to orchestrate and compliantly reason over petabytes of Microsoft Commerce data. You will design, develop, test and operate the platforms and schema primitives we use to reason over Commerce data. Additionally, you will design and implement how we leverage Azure Data Factory to hydrate data from our online transaction processing systems.
You will make a difference by gaining perspective from working across Microsoft's Commerce and Product teams, grow and learn as a data engineering by learning from peer Data/Intelligence platforms and gaining uniquely deep and broad understanding of Azure's Data Services. In addition, you will enable data streaming methodologies for segments of this data where near real time decisioning is also required.
Architect, build and operate elements of the Commerce Data Lake and Intelligence Platform
Work closely with your peers in rationalizing technology choices, design and implementations to expose and reason over Commerce Data.
Deeply leverage Azure Data Services to orchestrate, store and perform Commerce Data analytics in a reliable, repeatable and timely pattern
Drive design discussions for your area of ownership, constructively incorporate feedback, and implement and test your feature hirings.
Support hiring, mentorship and guidance of peer Software Engineers; drive design discussions
8+ years of experience in shipping production online services.
Experience in Modern Data platforms (Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Synapse and/or ADLS)
Experience in Building and Maintaining Online Services at scale using C#, .NET, Java
Understanding of Azure, AWS or similar cloud computing platforms
BA/BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, related STEM field, or equivalent experience
Understanding of stream data processing systems such as Apache Storm, Spark Streaming or related.
