Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers Microsoft's cloud services. The team is responsible for designing, building and operating our unified global datacenters, managing the demand planning and capacity utilization of our unified infrastructure, and responsible for all of the operations needed to run the physical infrastructure (including supply chain, hardware, power, security, and workflow teams).
The CO + I Infrastructure Supply Chain team is looking for an experienced Supplier Engagement Program Manager with a proven track record and passion for driving Supplier Performance and Relationships. Supplier categories include Data Center Lease Providers, General Contractors, Long Lead Equipment Manufacturer's, Architectural Engineers, Commissioning Agents, Critical Environment Services etc.
The Supplier Engagement Program Manager is a transformational change agent responsible for building, maintaining and enhancing relationships with and between strategic (high-value and high-dependency) suppliers and internal stakeholders ensuring Microsoft achieves its critical objectives. Working with business partners you will need strong facilitation skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement supplier engagement best practices. This effort includes the implementation of software tools and processes to support our supplier engagement end to end offering.
This PM would be the interface with internal teams and stitch together a consistent engagement with all the suppliers and drive the supplier engagement rhythm in a programmatic way.
It is essential that you also demonstrate strong project program management and interpersonal skills that include oral and written communication skills, change management, ability to motivate others. Role will also include monitoring and management of data to ensure compliance and regulatory areas that mitigates our company risk.
You must be very detail oriented, data driven, hands-on, meticulous with the quality of your presentations and process design. Strong problem-solving skills, knowledge of construction, engineering or manufacturing processes and supplier engagement systems / tools balanced with technical knowledge on Datacenter products and services are essential to success.
Develop, formalize, direct, and maintain collaborative relationships with strategic suppliers. Interface with senior executives and project teams globally at Microsoft and suppliers.
Define, measure and monitor business and supplier performance metrics, build supplier performance and risk assessments tools & processes, to enable supplier engagement program elements, track metrics and compliance, analyze the data to drive decision making and process optimization needs.
Accountable for centralizing, documenting, and maintaining supplier engagement and performance artefacts, and market intelligence for assigned supplier categories.
Lead the collation and management of supplier performance source data, including processes for data transformation, data management, data quality assurance, data analysis and data visualization.
Convey complex data via visual techniques to succinctly communicate for decision-making and storytelling.
Conduct and analyze internal and external surveys to gauge supplier and business performance and trends that inform supplier performance reviews and business planning with suppliers.
Create, update, and continually maintain supplier performance trends and relationship summary dashboards.
Drive Supplier Executive Business Reviews and annual planning meetings with Microsoft data center cross functional teams and suppliers, capturing key actions and takeaways, conduct gap analysis and manage action items to closure in a timely manner. Generate and monitor action plans for underperforming Suppliers.
Participate in monthly/quarterly supplier reviews for assigned supplier categories led by other business groups to keep abreast on supplier performance related to Safety, Quality, Delivery and Compliance, and update supplier relationship summary dashboards.
Ensure a common supplier engagement approach is taken towards management of Suppliers and that Suppliers recognize this engagement approach.
Lead Supplier Engagement program for assigned supplier categories across data center supply chain and ensure that we are driving forward actions from lessons learned through prior supplier engagements.
Success in this role will require a high degree of collaboration, communication, change management, and experience leading supplier engagement programs. The successful candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, industrial, electrical, or related discipline. MBA or Master's degree in a related technical field preferable.
7+ years of relevant experience in leading supplier relationships or procurement programs within Datacenter, Manufacturing, or other high-tech industry.
7+ years of Project Management and related change management experience.
3+ years working in one or more key categories including large capital projects related to infrastructure leasing, general contractor/trades, facility equipment, construction services, critical environment services or related experience.
3+ years' experience developing metrics for evaluations of supplier performance, and continuous improvement.
Experience developing metrics for evaluations of supplier performance, Six Sigma and continuous improvement.
Construction and/or manufacturing experience is desirable.
Strong presentation and facilitation skills, demonstrating ability to both write and communicate clearly, effectively and concisely to all levels of business and suppliers.
Experience handling an audience including interacting and presenting to C-Suite, senior executives and customers.
Both technically deep and business savvy enough to interface with all levels and disciplines within the organization, from engineers to executives .
Excellent skills, including advanced Excel and PowerBI, ability to create compelling presentations. Experience with databases and data visualization tools being a definite advantage. Ability to comfortably shift between hands-on detailed analysis and big picture thinking.
Ability to collaborate and influence across multiple levels of an organization, work through ambiguity, successfully manage complexity and multiple priorities, self-motivated and thrives on minimal supervision, and work under continual deadline pressure in an extremely volatile and high paced environment
Ability to travel globally to support program work based on business needs.
