Technical Professional Leader- Systems Engineering
This position supports tasking at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, MD. Candidate will primarily provide support to the PMA 266 Program Office and its designated partners performing analyses involving acquisition, development, engineering, test, and sustainment issues. . Candidate will perform a wide variety of tasks for the government customer to include requirements analysis and traceability, conduct Analyses of Alternatives, Technology Readiness Level analyses, recommended course(s) of action, drafting acquisition documentation such as ECPs, SOWs, IFCs etc. and recommended issue resolution. Candidate will interface with a variety of integrated team personnel.
Required Skills & Experience
Education: A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution is required. Advanced degree (or professional certification) strongly desired.
Experience: A minimum of twelve (12) years of demonstrated experience in a combination of aircraft test, acquisition and systems engineering and/or military operations required. Experience with, and knowledge of, the DoD acquisition cycle and methodology, systems engineering technical review cycle, engineering change proposal development, specification and statement of work development, interim flight clearance and NATOPS/NATIP (or equivalent) development required. Demonstrated experience at NAVAIR strongly desired. Military aviation (manned or unmanned) experience strongly desired. Familiarity with NAVAIR finance processes and procedures desired.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Candidate must be able to perform research, provide analysis, document findings and determinations and provide associated recommendations. Knowledge of USN correspondence development practices and the ability to write formal engineering reports and construct briefing materials using MS Office tools such as Word, Power Point and Excel required. Familiarity with MS Project required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multitasking team environment.
Desired Skills and Experience
Demonstrated experience at NAVAIR strongly desired. Demonstrated experience as a systems engineer, test engineer, and/or training lead strongly desired. Experience with military aviation (manned or unmanned) systems strongly desired. Graduate of USN or USAF TPS a strong plus.
