    Job Description

    Title:

    LMOC Test Engineer
    • Works with the Landsat Ground System (GS) Landsat Multi-mission Operations Center (LMOC) Integration and Test (I&T) Lead to support the USGS customer for the GS integration and readiness testing
    • Develops and directs tests for the functional and performance verification and validation of the Landsat Ground System with a focus on LMOC
    • Supports the review and execution of mission-level test activities with a focus on LMOC
    • Develops detailed test procedures, identifies specific test configurations and interfaces needed to perform the test against specific requirements
    • Works closely with Landsat Flight Operations Team (FOT), LMOC vendor, and NASA service providers to develop test procedures and scripts based on test requirements
    • Facilitates discussions with the FOT to better understand the systems capabilities and limitations
    • Coordinates and directs activities to perform the ground system-level tests within the LMOC
    • Participates in coordination activities with other Test Engineers at other facilities
    • Witness LMOC element-level Site Acceptance Test (SAT)
    • Works with verification engineers to ensure requirement compliance
    • Reports test failures and anomalies into the discrepancy tracking system
    • Manages retest and closure of discrepancies
    • Archives test data and artifacts
    Qualifications
    • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering or computer science
    • Must have at least 3 years of engineering best practice experience
    • Must have knowledge of systems engineering and software development life cycles
    • Effective communication skills (writing, collaborating, presenting, etc.)
    • Skilled in MS Office
    Desired Experience (Preferred):
    • Three years of experience as a test engineer supporting the development and verification of a satellite ground system
    • Experience in satellite flight operations preferred
    • Experience in scripting languages preferred
