-Under limited supervision, prepares working plans, detailed drawings and complete mechanical or electrical drawings and layouts of components and assemblies such as schematics, interconnect lists, parts breakdown, printed circuit board assembly drawings, wire lists, etc., from notes, verbal instructions and rough or detailed sketches for engineering or manufacturing purposes.
-May take measurements or make observations of shop and field installations; makes routine engineering computations, prepares specifications and source control documentation, and makes adjustments in drawings and specifications; prepares material lists and engineering orders, change requests, etc.
-Work involves independent judgment to a limited extent with references generally available.
-One-year detailed drafting experience, preferably in the high technology industry with emphasis on electro-mechanical drawing.
-Must have a general knowledge of the mechanical and electro-mechanical fields of design and be thoroughly familiar with recommended design/drafting standards. Solidworks experience a plus.
-Proficiency in Solidworks.
-Experience with EPDM and configuration management is a plus.
-Familiarity with GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
-Familiarization with cable design to supporting cable drawings.
-Experience preparing schematics, logic diagrams and block diagrams.
-Ability to generate mechanical assembly drawings and bills of materials.
-Ability to generate detailed fabrication drawings for machined components, sheet metal, PCBs and cable assemblies.
-Ability to acquire a security clearance if required.
