    Additional Requirements:
    • must obtain a Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) within two weeks of accepting the contingent job offer
    • must complete training and obtain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 90 days of his or her start date in the position, unless extended by the Director of Transportation and Maintenance
    • must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical (including a drug test) for intrastate drivers within two weeks of accepting the contingent job offer (additional time may be provided if a physical condition is correctable)

    Other Compensation Information

    Night differential: A $.50 per hour night differential is paid to associates regularly scheduled to work any hours between midnight and 3:00 a.m. (this does not include shifts that end at midnight or begin at 3:00AM).

    Year End Bonus

    To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks' pay.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • current Lakeland Distribution associate
    • be able to work independently with little or no supervision
    • have at least two years experience in trailer repair or a related trade
    • have mechanical and diagnostic knowledge of fleet trailer equipment, as well as, knowledge of circuits and operational sequence of components
    • knowledge of ARC, MIG, and GAS welding and cutting including welding aluminum and steel
    • basic knowledge of parts and components of trailers.
