Location: US:WI:MILWAUKEE at our FROEDTERT HOSPITAL facility.
*1.0 FTE is Full-Time, any position less than 1.0 FTE is Part-Time, and .001 FTE is Optional Part-Time*
*Positions with an "FTE" (full time equivalency) of .8 - 1.0 are eligible for full-time medical, dental and vision benefits. Positions with an "FTE" of .5 - .799 are eligible for part-time pro-rated medical, dental and vision benefits*
2:30pm-11:00pm working from 2:30pm-4:00pm as a FLOAT & 4:00pm-11:00pm in 5SE working on Friday of the A week and Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday of the B week
The Health Unit Coordinator provides clerical and system coordination and support for the inpatient care areas. Coordinates nursing unit communication and activities with physicians, nursing staff, other departments, professional staff, patients, and families related to patient care. The Health Unit Coordinator manages the desk area of the inpatient unit, facilitating the use of technology and coordinating downtime procedures. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum of six months of experience as a Health Unit Coordinator is preferred. High School diploma or equivalent is required. Medical terminology knowledge is required, or must satisfactorily complete this course within the first six months of employment. Completion of a formal Health Unit Coordinator training program is preferred. Health Unit Coordinator certification is preferred.
Must have the ability to adapt to changes in a fast paced work environment. Exemplary telephone etiquette and customer service skills are required. Must possess analytical skills to gather and interpret routine data, maintain semi-complex records and organize work. Working knowledge of Windows office systems and all office equipment preferred.
