    Froedtert health network offers specialized care through the SANE Forensic Nurse Examiner program at Froedtert's four emergency departments at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital, Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, Moorland Reserve Emergency Department in New Berlin, and Frodtert Wend Bend Hospital.

    The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program provides:
    • Medical assessment and treatment
    • Emotional support with a trauma informed response
    • Medical/legal evidence collection using a rape kit (when seen within 120 hours of the assault)
    • Information about reporting the crime to police
      Help with crime victim's compensation
    • Education and resource information

    Shift 4

    On call hours: pick up all shifts, weekends, evenings and holidays

    Responsibilities:
    Reporting to the Manager of Emergency Care Services, demonstrates clinical competence in the collection of forensic evidence, in addition to the care, treatment, and referral of those impacted by interpersonal violence. Demonstrates the ability to provide expert testimony in a court of law. Participate in wellness and prevention community activities. Provides a comforting, safe, and healing environment for patients and their families. Other duties as assigned.

    Summary:
    • 1 year of experience as an RN is preferred.
    • Experience in SANE or Woman's Health is preferred.
    • Associate's degree in nursing is required.
    • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
    • Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact).
    • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within three months of hire.

      Other information:
      Must attend Basic SANE training and clinical competencies as part of orientation. Strong verbal communication skills and critical thinking are required for this position. Must be able to take flexible call hours. Minimum of 24 hours of call hours per month.
