The SOC Operator is directly responsible for the accurate documentation of routine, and unusual, events occurring on, or near, the facilities; and maintains control of all equipment, and keys, in the Control Room. This position is responsible for completing task work orders for all maintenance needs reported.

    Role Responsibility:

    Specific Duties and Essential Functions
    • Monitor all security, communications, and fire/life safety systems within the designated region via the provided monitoring systems
    • Serve as the liaison between all departments and the Security Department
    • Handle (without delay) complaints and unusual/critical event information to Shift Supervisor, Account Manager, and Security Director
    • Directly responsible for the accurate documentation of routine, and unusual, events occurring on, or near, the facilities (accomplished via shift reports, pass-downs logs, incident reports, incident reports logs, or other established methods)
    • Accurately maintain control of all equipment, and keys, in the Control Room. Accurately logs all equipment, and keys, signed out and returned by Security, parking and shuttle bus staff
    • Complete "Task work orders" for all reported maintenance needs
    • Inform (without delay) the Shift Supervisor I Account Manager of any missing, damaged, or inoperative equipment, or communications, alarm, CCTV, or other systems
    • Proactively monitor all surveillance cameras, and CCTV remote viewer programs. Monitors and responds to all security/life safety system alarms
    • Answer, and respond, to events and situations received over regular, and emergency, phones and intercoms
    • Control and monitor the two-way communication systems
    • Speak clearly, give direction, and provide guidance to employees and security staff during emergencies
    The Ideal Candidate:

    Education, Licenses and Certifications Required
    • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
    • Ability to meet and maintain any applicable state licensing requirements
    Type and Length of Specific Experience Required
    • Mustpossess a minimum of one year of verifiable private/corporate security experience
    Skills Required
    • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • Active listening skills
    • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
    • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
    • Attention to detail
    • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
    • Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
    • Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
    • Must have access to reliable transportation
    • Ability to multi-task, discerns patterns in detail
    • Ability to think through problems for logical solutions, and remain calm and professional under stress
    • Ability to give direction, and provide guidance, to employees and security staff during emergencies
    • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
    • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
    Physical Requirements and Environment

    Environment: Indoor with minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures

    Major activity: Sitting, standing, speaking listening, observing

    Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Sitting and standing. Minimal to no stooping or kneeling.
