This position includes personnel who provide IT support in areas where capabilities may be gained primarily through extensive on-the-job experience, specialized formal Government training, or institutional training and certification. On-the-job experience must be in specific IT fields.
This position will be responsible for supporting and conducting Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Satellite Communications (SATCOM), Very High Frequency (VHF)/UHF Line of Sight (LOS), Soldier Radio Waveform (SRW), and High Frequency (HF) standards and waveform conformance certification and assessment of various radio, radio systems, modems, waveforms and radio interoperability (IOP) assessments. Includes testing and data collection of the current MIL-STD-188-243 UHF Amplitude Modulation Frequency Modulation Phase Shift Keying Line of Sight Waveform Conformance Test Procedures (Revision 2), dated December 2007, or the most current version of the JITC approved test procedure.
The current JITC test procedure is based on MIL-STD-188-243, DoD Interface Standard, and Tactical Single Channel Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Radio Communications. Other testing includes High Power Amplifier (HPA)/Low Noise Amplifier (LNA)/Switch IW Phase 1 or Phase 2, Automated Testing. The RTF has developed test capabilities and procedures to conduct SCT/WSCT, compliance testing, functional testing, and radio interoperability (IOP) assessments of tactical radios, radio systems, modems, waveforms, network, UHF SATCOM channel controllers, and radio data controllers. RTF technicians and engineers will be responsible for conducting SCT/WSCT testing based on requirements drawn from MIL-STDs, UHF SATCOM MIL-STDs, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Standardization Agreements (STANAGs), and commercial standards (e.g., System Specifications), and waveform interface specifications.
Additionally, Radio IOP assessments are supported which assess voice, data, Electronic Remote Fill (ERF), Late Net Entry (LNE), Over the Air Rekey (OTAR) Automatic Key (AK), Time of Day (TOD), VHF/UHF LOS, Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System (SINCGARS), and Have Quick (HQ)I/II modes of operation. Qualifications :Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree; or
- At least 60 semester hours working towards an Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience; or
- 6 years of experience is required.
- Related certification in area of specialization may be substituted for 1 year of experience.
- Must have an active Secret security clearance at time of hire
- Understanding of MIL-STD and Standardization Agreements (STANAG)
- Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification
- Knowledge of UHF/VHF LOS, Single Channel DoD Radios and COMSEC

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require filing, typing, and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, included but not limited to: bending, reaching, turning and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required.Work Environment

Core work hours will be between 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.Other Essential Functions

Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Travel to and from customer's locations and the test fields may be required to support projects. This may involve airline travel. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion.
