    Job Description

    Jacobs is seeking a Junior Telecommunications Equipment Installer and Repairer who conducts computer and hands on training needs assessment by collecting information pertaining to work procedures, work flow, and reports; understanding job-specific functions and tasks. Not limited to computer network training, can be tactical system utilization of emerging equipment. Determines system utilization requirements by researching and testing systems. Specifically supports Task 4. Conducts IT training classes in concert with or by vendor supplied materials or systems.

    Qualifications :

    • AAS Computer Science; CCNA (Routing and Switching), CCNE, Security+ce, Network+ce, A+ce, ITIL Foundation IT Service Management, Certified Fiber Optics Installer, CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer
    • Network Security Professional and U.S. Army Veteran with 20+ years of technical, training, and leadership expertise in Security Management and Information Assurance derived from conducting domestic and global operations.
    • Background in planning, developing and implementing all technical training student/course materials for XVIII Airborne Corps Soldiers, customers, employees, and field support personnel at the Fort Bragg Digital Training Facility.
    • Trained 400+ Soldiers on IT Networking and Cisco Routing, Network Management (SNMPc), CompTIA Network +, Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching, AN/PRC-154 and AN/PRC-155 Radio Sets, and Fiber Optics Installer Course.
    • Proficient Technical Writer with experience authoring Reach-Back Support Instructions, Technical and User Guides, and SOPs for varied functional areas, including Security SOPs for handling, safeguarding, and disposition of cryptographic material. Developed, standardized and employed the organization's communications security compromise procedures which resulted in a decrease in compromises by 40% across the organization.
    Clearance Requirements
    • TS/SCI clearance required.

    Essential Functions

    Physical Requirements

    Requires sitting for extended periods of time at a desk (90%). Requires sitting at a computer terminal for long periods of time (90%). There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work area walking moderate to long distances can sometimes be required.

    Work Environment
    Inside office/cubicle environment. Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers and all levels of management (100%).

    Equipment and Machines
    Requires ability to operate a personal computer, a telephone, copier, and other general office equipment (100%). Ability to conduct evaluation of third and fourth generation or current state of the art computer hardware and software and its ability to support specific requirements, interfacing with other equipment and systems.

    Attendance is critical. Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday through Friday. Being prompt is important to provide continuous and on-going service to customers. Attendance is important to maintain continuity of service. Work outside of normal duty hours may be required with as little as one hour advance notice. Overtime is infrequent, but important when required (1%).

    Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization. Must be able to obtain unescorted access to work areas. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
