    Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

    Delivers and coordinates care to patients undergoing procedures within the imaging services areas; assesses and identifies patient needs and comforts, executes therapeutic physician/nurse initiated interventions, evaluates patient response to procedures, notes patient progress and records patient outcomes, and provides patient/family education in accordance with standards of care

    Essential Job Functions

    Prepares diagnostic areas for procedures; assures equipment is functional and supplies available; assures informed consent has been completed prior to procedures; administers medications (including moderate sedation) in a safe manner, which is consistent with the organization's policies and procedures and the State of Ohio Nurse Practice Act; evaluates patient needs to provide comfort and reduces pain/anxiety to patients; verifies accurate and timely patient history, physical, and has knowledge and ability to document nursing activities in EMR; assists with procedures (Interventional Radiology, CT, Ultrasound, Echo, etc.) under the supervision of a radiologist, surgeon and/or cardiologist; coordinates the management of emergencies arising from procedural and clinical complications; participates in on-call rotation for Interventional Radiology, CT, etc.; practices and promotes the standards of the National Patient Safety Goals

    Facilitates and provides educational support to staff of Diagnostic Imaging Services; educates patients/families in disease prevention and treatment

    Assists Manager/Director with data collection for performance improvement; initiates problem solving and teamwork with co-workers and demonstrates creativity and flexibility to changing work environment; interacts positively with physicians; acts as a liaison between Diagnostic Imaging Services and other Nursing Units; participates on Nursing Committees as appropriate

    Maintains clinical diagnostic and nursing competencies and ACLS, attends in-services, quality assurance meetings, and departmental meetings

    Education Qualifications-List theminimumeducation, training, and experience required to perform the essential functions of the position.

    Required Minimum Education:

    2 Year/ Associates Degree

    Specialty/Major:

    Nursing

    Preferred Education:

    4 year/ Bachelors Degree

    Specialty/Major:

    Nursing

    Licensing/ Certification-If registration, certification or licensure is required, include the name of the accrediting or licensing body.

    Licensure/Certification Required:

    Current nursing licensure in the State of Ohio; ACLS certification required

    Minimum Qualifications

    Minimum Years and Type of Experience:Minimum 3 years of recent acute care nursing experience

    Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Basic arrhythmia recognition skills

    Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Previous experience in Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Stress Lab or Critical Care nursing experience
