    Job Description


    Systems Administrator

    The KBR Development and Integration Program is looking for a Mid-Level Systems Administrator to support our teams diverse project portfolio and highly technical workforce. Specifically, we are looking for qualified candidates to support our NALCOMIS shipboard server ruggedized rack system located at our KBR facility in Lexington Park, MD. The ideal candidate will be primarily responsible for maintaining a critical system put in place to support various government software testing efforts. This system is a robust physical asset that hosts a VMware environment consisting of both Windows and Linux VMs (virtual machines).

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline (8 years of experience can be substituted for the educational requirements), and 5 years relevant experience,
    • Clearance Requirement: US Citizen with a DoD Secret clearance or US Citizen with eligibility for a DoD clearance
    • Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues
    • Manage the configuration and operation of client & server-based computer operating systems (WIN10, Windows Server, Linux)
    • Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns/issues
    • Create and verify backups of data
    • Respond to and resolve requests from the customer
    • Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
    • Understand networking well enough to manage incoming and outgoing traffic
    • Manage and maintain malware protection software and processes
    • Review system and application logs
    • Install and test computers and computer related equipment
    • Windows and LINUX OS Systems Administration Experience a must
    • VMware experience a must
    • U.S. Naval Aviation Maintenance Administration and/or NALCOMIS experience a strong plus.
    • Ability to work closely with all levels of program and organizational personnel, including but not limited to customers, program/project managers, software engineers, testers, quality assurance, release managers, and configuration managers
    • Strong interpersonal skills a plus
    • Motivated self-starter, strong logical, creative problem-solving skills and excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
    • Excellent and effective oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
