The HIM Coordinator performs a variety of functions in the Health Information Management department. They are responsible for assuring that medical records are received, processed, and scanned in a timely and accurate manner to support patient care and patient billing. They will analyze inpatient and outpatient records for deficiencies and monitors weekly delinquency statistics. The coordinator will help to coordinate, train, and assist clinicians in records completion activities.This position also involves extensive customer service such as answering the telephone, providing assistance to customers regarding the status of requests for release of information, accurately relaying the process that needs to be followed to obtain medical information, assisting a customer onsite by gathering their medical records for release and facilitating payment for those records, and speaking with physicians or other healthcare entities regarding requests for records.

- Associates Degree in health information technology or related field preferred or 4 years Healthcare experience required
- RHIT/RHIA preferred
