    Position Description: Perform complex software deployment, testing and configuration for Golden Gate, a comprehensive software platform. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for complex and varied Golden Gate deployments in a Heterogeneous environment and take a lead role in the resolution of complex incidents and problems. Responsible for software administration, monitoring and alerting development and support, replication tuning, security and general maintenance of the systems. Coordinate projects requiring data replication to ensure robust solution and high standards are used in administering a deployment. Install and upgrade product software following a path-to-production philosophy. Monitoring replication performance to ensure the best possible configuration. Ensure that an appropriate backup strategy is in place and well documented for the deployment and coordinate this with the system level backup strategy. Work with application development teams and infrastructure teams to secure and protect valuable data from inappropriate access or data loss. Support application development activities, which may include complex issues of application development such as customizations, application tuning, security access, software installation and software maintenance. Develop internal standards for replication administration as well as replication documentation. Work with Solution Architects, Application Managers, Information/Data Architects, Database Designer/Modelers, ETL Support Teams and Business Process Owners to implement environments for Golden Gate replication in support of Staples Initiatives, with emphasis on Data Warehouse Systems and Decision Support Systems. Manage Golden Gate upgrade activities, enhancements requests and support of replication processes related to project releases. Assist in the development and validation of project requirements. Develop processes, procedures and define metrics to review for capacity management. Provide input to the development of business cases in enterprise-wide solutions. Develop and implement Golden Gate performance monitoring process and analyze monitoring data for performance optimization opportunities and capacity planning. Support the metadata infrastructure. Develop and implement standards related to Golden Gate deployments. Provide incident management, problem management and SLA support. Provide training on various replication deployments to extended and external teams. Requires participation in a bi-weekly on-call rotation. This position is fixed in Westminster, Colorado, however, telecommuting allowed on a limited basis.

    Qualifications

    Required Experience/Skills: Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a directly related field plus five (5) years of experience in Oracle Golden Gate technology in a heterogenous environment. Experience must include:

    Five (5) years of experience must involve (experience may be gained concurrently):
    • Leveraging DBA skills across 11g version of Oracle;
    • Leveraging UNIX/Linux platform skills with understanding of network, storage, tiered application environments and security;
    • Shell scripting;
    • Solving complex systems and database environment issues;
    Three (3) years of experience must involve (experience may be gained concurrently):
    • Analyzing requirements and defining requirements, working closely with clients and business analysts to surface business needs that might need to be addressed by a system solution;
    • Working with operating systems configured for HA/DR;
    Two (2) years of experience must involve (experience may be gained concurrently):
    • Leveraging DBA skills across 12c version of Oracle;
    • Creating and executing complex tests and test scenarios based on requirements and design specifications;
    • Leveraging an understanding of Oracle Data Guard fundamentals.
    40 hours/week. Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
