    Job Description

    Job Summary: The Sr. Reveneue Accounting Analyst develops and implements procedures and controls necessary to accurately account for Net Patient Service Revenue, Patient Accounts Receivable and third party settlements. The Sr. Revenue Accounting Analyst is responsible for the completion of workpapers, account analysis and the recording of journal entries resulting in the accurate presentation of hospital financial statements in accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principals and other financial statement presentation requirements. The Sr. Revenue Analyst is responsible for the accuracy of Bad Debt, Charity, RAC and other reserves. In addition, this position will be responsible for the development of the annual hospital revenue budget and will assist in the preparation of the Medicare and Medicaid cost reports.

    Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience is required.

    Over 5 years of healthcare net patient services revenue accounting and patient accounts receivable accounting and financial statement presentation experience. Hospital, large physician group or public accounting experience with emphasis in healthcare required.

    Knowledge of healthcare net patient service revenue and patient accounts receivable accounting rules and guidelines. Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid payment requirements and expert knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid cost report preparation rules. Ability to interpret Medicare and other payer payment methodologies to ensure the hospital receives appropriate payment.
