The Biomedical Equipment Technician will serve our patients through creative, high quality, biomedical equipment support and technical assistance in a timely and cost effective manner. This individual requires a high level of specialized technical ability in problem solving, use of test equipment and service documentation to maintain a wide variety of equipment types used for patient diagnostics and treatment, clinical laboratory, radiology, surgery and other medical and support departments.
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Associate of Applied Sciences Degree in Biomedical Engineering/Equipment Technology or certificate of equivalent Military/Technical education or Associates of Applied Sciences Degree in Electronics Engineering/Equipment Technology.
Minimum Required: Biomedical Engineering/Equipment Technology internship or equivalent internship experience.
Preferred/Optional: Two years of experience servicing medical equipment in a clinical setting.
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional: AAMI Credentials Institute (AMI), Certified Biomedical Electronics Technician (CBET), Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES), or Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES) certification. State of Wisconsin valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
