    Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Project Manager in support of weapon system-based training.     This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

    This position will support all SP efforts for the GBSD Program within the Sector Support Business CoE organization


    Essential Responsibilities:


    Provide project management support to the TST Operations and Planning Lead for program design, development, and delivery of training equipment and simulators.
    Responsible for providing daily operational management support to the Training Systems Team, including to ensure compliance with all contractual, program, and operational requirements.

    Conducts themselves in a timely, effective, and caring/respectful manner as part of the Training Systems Team and Enterprise Program.

    Supports, controls and coordinate all Training Systems project defined activities.
    Supports and evaluates Training Systems project operational and tactical planning and execution activities along with daily team work assignments, financial support analyses, and other program imperatives.
    Manages project reporting and completion status to meet project cost, schedule and technical objectives.
    Preparation of project execution plans and identification of appropriate business resources required.
    Developes and adherence to budget baselines using Earned Value Management (EVM) or similar cost and schedule control methodologies and tools.
    Supports development and delivery of presentations to customers, management, and other project stakeholders as required
    Manages and track status of projects, metrics, financial budgets, and EACs; manage schedules and prepare status reports; and ensure project remediation and ongoing compliance goals are met.
    Supports planning and scheduling Training Systems project task/site timelines and milestones.
    Refines project task /site success criteria and monitor progress.
    Provides positive influence with respect to action and accountability for project assigned roles.
    Evaluates effectiveness of daily actions and systems; troubleshoot any potential and/or existing problems; work with appropriate individuals to put solutions into action.
    Supports development of talking points/presentations for leadership meetings.
    Supplemental Responsibilities may include:
    Supports enforcement of quality and performance management and reporting actions related to Training Systems responsibility including the incorporation and execution of best practices.
    Supports development and implementation of innovative business support, partnering, and proactive planning and execution processes.
    Supports the resolution of inter- and intra-organizational problems in major areas of responsibility.
    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications :

    This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4

    Basic Qualifications for level 3:

    Bachelor's degree in business management or related field with 6 years of related experience, or 4 years of experience with a Master's. 4 additional years of experience in lieu of the degree will be an option
    Professional project management with specific experience in Federal and/or Defense contracting.

    Ability to work in an evolving business/program environment.
    Ability to maintain poise and patience under new, extreme, or confrontational circumstances.
    Prior work experience relevant to program or project management, campaign execution, organizational collaboration, and communication across organizations is essential.
    Familiarity with Quality Management, and other associated business administration concepts, procedures, and practices.
    Strong ability to coordinate teams, define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    Proficiencies in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, and Excel.
    Have or be able to obtain Agile or SCRUM familiarity.

    Active DoD Secret Clearance

    Basic Qualifications for level 4:

    Bachelor's degree in business management or related field with 10 years of related experience, or 8 years of experience with a Master's. 4 additional years of experience in lieu of the degree will be an option
    Professional project management with specific experience in Federal and/or Defense contracting.

    Ability to work in an evolving business/program environment.
    Ability to maintain poise and patience under new, extreme, or confrontational circumstances.
    Prior work experience relevant to program or project management, campaign execution, organizational collaboration, and communication across organizations is essential.
    Familiarity with Quality Management, and other associated business administration concepts, procedures, and practices.
    Strong ability to coordinate teams, define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    Proficiencies in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, and Excel.
    Have or be able to obtain Agile or SCRUM familiarity.

    Able to discern and maintain confidential information; act with sensitivity and discretion.
    Able to act independently and be proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
    Ability to think creatively, forming feasible plans and solutions.
    Ability to obtain and retain a Top Secret Clearance

    Preferred Qualifications for level 4:
    Bachelor's degree in business management or related field with 12 years of related experience, or 10 years of experience with a Master's
    Experience and/or familiarity with the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent proposal/program is a plus.
    Superb Verbal and Written communications skills.
    Able to discern and maintain confidential information; act with sensitivity and discretion.
    Able to act independently and be proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
    Ability to think creatively, forming feasible plans and solutions.
    Active Top Secret Clearance
