    Job Description

    Northrop Grumman Corporation is seeking an Indirect Tax Senior Principal to join the Corporate Tax Department. The qualified applicant will report to the State Tax Director in Falls Church, VA.

    Roles and Responsibilities:
    • Sales/use and gross receipts tax preparation & filings
    • Data extracts & Vertex returns imports
    • Indirect tax registrations
    • Calculate "Aerospace" percentage & prepare related accruals
    • Respond to resale & exemption certificate requests
    • Review iBuy carts for proper sales/use tax coding of purchase orders
    • Sales/use tax account reconciliations & journal entries
    • Work with accounts payable, accounts receivable & sectors to resolve sales/use tax issues
    • Maintain resale certificates received from customers
    • Work with Vertex administrators to resolve jurisdiction code & other systems matters
    • Maintain indirect tax calendar
    • Maintain schedule of indirect tax payments
    • Respond to indirect tax notices
    • Support audit & incentive initiatives
    • Assist with VAT research and FATCA compliance

    • Hands on experience using Vertex O series software

    • A high level of confidence, attention to detail, integrity, self-motivation, and hands-on problem solving skills
    • Flexible and demonstrate strong judgment/decision-making skills
    • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as, project management, planning, and personal interaction skills
    • Strong commitment and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment


    Qualifications :

    Basic Qualifications:
    •Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar field plus 10 years experience OR a Master's degree and 8 years of experience.
    •Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

    Preferred Qualifications:
    •Master's degree in Taxation or related field
    •CPA license or CMI designation
    •Aerospace & defense industry experience
    •Big 4 & industry tax experience
    •VAT/FATCA knowledge

    • SAP knowledge; Costpoint knowledge is a plus
