    Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for our Iuka, MS facility. This individual will support manufacturing of large composite aerospace structures.

    Responsibilities will include the following:
    • Interpret customer furnished drawings and specifications and author work instructions for fabrication.
    • Under the guidance of lead/manager, will work closely with program office, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering and operations to solve production issues in hand layup, automated fiber placement, secondary bonding, autoclave cure, machining, assembly, NDI and final inspection processes.
    • Act as a technical liaison with the customer for design and specification changes.
    This role may be filled at an Engineer or Principal Engineer level depending on the qualifications below.

    Travel is less than 10% and within the US.


    Qualifications :

    Basic Qualifications

    Manufacturing Engineer
    • Bachelors in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline and 2+ years of relevant work experience, or a Masters in a STEM discipline
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
    Principal Manufacturing Engineer
    • Bachelors in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline and 5+ years of relevant work experience, or a Masters in a STEM discipline and 3+ years of relevant work experience
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
    Preferred Skills and Experience:
    • Active current Secret clearance
    • Composites knowledge (i.e. hand layup, automated layup, cure experience, machining experience)
    • Strong knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
    • Experience authoring, modifying and auditing work procedures
    • Knowledge of root cause / corrective action processes and techniques
    • Experience estimating, planning, and streamlining manufacturing processes
    • Experience in working with aerospace specifications and requirements
    • Experience authoring, modifying and auditing work procedures
    • Understanding of Catia V5
    • Experience using SPC to monitor and improve processes
