Director of Supply Chain - Food Procurement

    Job Description

    The Director of Supply Chain develops and maintains exceptional food procurement capabilities to support our rapidly growing restaurant chain and achievement of long term-strategic supply plans. This position works cross-functionally with departments, franchisees, suppliers and others to ensure alignment and execution.

    Essential Functions

    • Direct and manage the development and execution of strategic priorities to ensure operational supply chain efficiencies and continuous improvement
    • Define and implement best practices to maximize effectiveness within the function and across the organization including key analytics, forecasting and needs assessments
    • Build positive business relationships with new and existing franchisees, suppliers and distributors
    • Foster a positive work environment and build strong productive relationships within the function and across the organization, through exhibited leadership, engagement and coaching
    • Manage multiple projects and changing priorities; making sound decisions under pressure and work effectively in a team oriented environment
    • Support and actively pursue budget, cost savings and actively seeking supply chain optimization objectives
    • Negotiate and ensure compliance for supplier contracts, pricing agreements and onboarding documents for all food related categories and products
    • Develop and implement design contingency plans and ensure plans are up-to date and easily activated for relative categories and products
    • Oversee commodities and trends impacting cost, quality, safety and availability of food related categories and products to optimize the cost / value equation
    • Direct and oversee the administration of suppliers including the tracking of key metrics
    • Enhance supplier development by communicating performance standards and developing joint improvement initiatives
    • Develop relationships in the marketplace to understand and stay abreast of industry changes which may impact various business management programs pertinent to food safety, quality, pricing trends and new product
    • Manage multiple disciplines to ensure all facets are handled in accordance with established processes, timelines and budgets
    • Collaborate with Senior Leadership to develop and establish department and company goals that align with the long-term vision and goals

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management or a related field
    • 15 years of experience in Supply Chain Management in a Food Service environment, restaurant chain experience preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience with proven capacity to build and manage successful team
    • Experience managing or purchasing in the following categories is preferred: Food Service Distribution, protein, dairy, bakery, produce, seafood, beverage, shortening, Quality Assurance and Nutrition
    • CPSM preferred but not required
