Set-up and removal of raw materials, packaging and finished goods from the production floor. Responsible for the handling, drying, blending, weighing, and loading of different types of plastic resins according to documented procedures. Responsible for accurately tracking and documenting movement of inventory. Monitors the usage of plastic resins to maintain material flow and uninterrupted product production. This includes knowledge of the IQMS schedule to identify demand and prepare accordingly. Performs material tests such as testing of resin for moisture content. Maintains safety and housekeeping of the production and staging areas and equipment which includes the cleaning of hoppers, grinders, dryers and other material handling equipment, and the removal of trash from the production floor. Monitors and empties grinders when necessary. Notifies maintenance via proper work order when repairs and preventative maintenance are needed. Performs maintenance checks on applicable handling equipment and notifies maintenance via work order when repairs and maintenance are necessary. Assists in the ergonomic set-up and use of all secondary equipment such as sonic welders, thermolators, dryers, drill presses, various types of gate cutters, etc. Moves and documents the movement of finished goods to designated areas in facility; this includes the banding and stretch wrapping of finished goods on skids before moving them to the warehouse or other designated areas. Uses computer & IQMS software to properly locate, place and trace materials and packaging. Performs operator duties as needed; refer to job description for Quality Operator 556.382-014. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by Mold Technicians. Reviews process instructions for clarity from operator point of view.
High School diploma or equivalent, plus minimum 6 months experience in injection molding. Some knowledge with injection mold operations, processes, and materials. Basic electricity a plus. Must be able to use computer.
