    Group Lead/Director – Cell Biology


    Cradle Genomics is currently seeking a Group Lead/Director to join a dynamic team focused on cell based product development in a CLIA/CAP environment. The individual will be responsible for leading the development of high throughput rare cell isolation methods to ensure we deliver the highest quality clinical product to market. As a key leader of the development team, this person will also be responsible for developing model systems and collaborating with the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), bioinformatics and operations teams to achieve the company’s mission of revolutionizing prenatal testing.


    · Lead a team of scientists and research associates focused on the development of efficient and scalable methods for isolation of rare cells from complex biological samples

    · Leads the design and development of cell line model systems using molecular biology techniques to facilitate assay optimization

    · Oversight of and accountability for experimental designs and plans, evaluation criteria, data analysis, decision points, project timelines, resource planning and team deliverables.

    · Oversees antibody optimization for rare cell isolation, immunofluorescence and flow cytometry assays to facilitate development

    · Subject matter expert in cell biology, rare cell biology

    · Provides weekly summaries of experimental designs, data and overall progress to leadership team, develops and assists with the production of clinical SOPs

    · Manage and develop junior team members

    Qualifications and Experience:

    · PhD in life sciences with at least 6-8 years or MS with at least 10 years of experience in cell-based clinical diagnostics development

    · Experience leading complex product development projects and managing a team of scientists and research associates

    · Expertise designing experiments, performing data analysis and drawing conclusions to facilitate decision making

    · Experience with CLIA, CAP, and FDA preferred

    · Hands on experience performing rare cell isolation from complex human samples

    · Excellent oral and written communication skills

    · Strong leadership skills and ability to work effectively within a team and cross-functionally

    · Knowledge of NGS workflows is preferred

    · Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

    · Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within dynamic and quick-paced environment

    · Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
