    Job Summary

    The server assistant (SA) is responsible for helping our service teams make guests happy. Server assistants are the duct tape for our team. This means that they have many practical and important tasks. Lastly, on busy shifts the SA is the glue that holds the shift together. As a server assistant you have to be passionate about making guests happy. It is so important that you look your best, create a fun atmosphere, and have a great attitude at all times. Your goal is to maintain a flawless dining experience and make each person that enters our restaurant feel as if they were "guests" in your own home.

    Key Performance Elements / Essential Functions

    Essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Smile, look great, and maintain a crisp and impeccable appearance throughout the entire shift.
    • Assist servers in their guest connections:
    • Help give immediate greets.
    • Provide 1st Rounds if necessary.
    • Help run appetizers, bread and entrées to guests.
    • Provide beverage refills throughout the shift.
    • Help clear dirty/unused dishes from table.
    • Help to seat guests as an extra host (if needed).
    • Keep host team updated when table are reset.
    • Clear and reset all dining room tables.
    • Monitor and assist in controlling the atmosphere in the dining room.
    • Read the guest and assist in recovery when necessary.
    • Assist in running side work.
    • Keep restrooms clean and organized

    Mechanics of Service: Your goal is to support the dining room team and help deliver all the mechanics of service. The mechanics of service are actions that enhance the guests' dining experience. Mechanics can include, but are not limited to, beverage refills, pre-bussing tables, delivering food, giving guests a new set of silverware when needed, and bringing extra condiments. These actions that directly impact the guest are your first and most important priority. This does not mean that the responsibility stops there.

    Ninety percent of your time should be spent in the dining room tending to the needs of the guests. All your other time should be focused on the needs of those who are directly impacting the guests' experience, the FOH service team. You will have to stay organized and be moving constantly all shift long to make a difference.


    Education / Training / Work Experience

    • A high school diploma is desired, but not required. Experience with general kitchen techniques and equipment is required.

    Physical Requirements

    • Performs duties that require bending, lifting, reaching and turning. Transports items and containers (weighing up to 50 lbs) to and from stock and kitchen locations.
    • Is able to stand up to eight hours or longer if needed.

    Additional requirements include:

    • Standing and walking 100 % of the time
    • Lifting up to 50 pounds to shoulder level.
    • Carrying up to 50 pounds for short distances
    • Constant exposure to heat
    • Bending and reaching from under the counter (5 inches above the ground) to 6 feet above the ground with at least one arm
    • Climbing ladders or step stools
    • Dexterity required for handling food items and dishes
    • Effective communication shill to deal with public
