Posting DetailsJob Summary / Basic Function

Director of Human Resources is to lead and oversee Employee Relations, Recruiting, Benefits, Compliance, and Training/Development functions. This position will be a key stakeholder in our organizational strategy reporting to the VP for Finance and Operations but with direct oversight by the President. LIT is currently outsourcing HR and this position will lead the creation of our own HR Department.

Responsibilities:
Advise leadership in areas such as Human Resources, Change Management, and Training and Development initiatives, resource planning, and effective implementation of processes and programs.
Drive initiatives such as goal setting, measurement, performance feedback, and rewards.
Responsible for compliance with State mandates.
Manage and oversee all Workers’ Compensation claims.
Coach supervisors and employees on various employee relations, compliance, and policy issues, and all support programs offered by LIT.
Design and implement onboarding and offboarding processes.
Communicate and update employee handbooks in compliance with state and system.
Maintain centralized employee documentation.
Work with payroll and finance to ensure employees payments.
Achieve TSUS Vision 2020 in Excellence to focus on recruiting of faculty talent.
Provide ongoing support on special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements:
Minimum 8 years relevant work experience in a broad scope of human resources.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent. PHR certification (SPHR or GPHR) is preferred, if not have, must have in first year of employment. Higher education experience preferred. Experience problem-solving with and for internal stakeholders.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and independently.
Supervisor experience of 2 years.
