This position is responsible for managing and executing training programs and initiatives that enable the success of restaurants across one or more concepts. It is also responsible for developing communications materials to ensure the successful implementation and execution of all related activities and initiatives. Through leading and executing across both functions, this role has responsibility for bridging the gap between communications, training, and operational execution. Partner with Human Resources and Operations leadership to ensure restaurants and managers have the tools they need to train, develop, and communicate effectively with managers and hourly staff.
Responsibilities: Training: • Communicate regularly with the Operations team and other functional leaders in order to proactively manage the training area for the assigned concept(s); anticipate training needs based on business changes and evolving needs. • Develop and continuously improve restaurant training programs, processes, and initiatives to ensure successful execution at the restaurant level. This includes, although is not limited to: o Management, shift supervisor, and hourly training o Culinary procedures, LTO, Menu, and other rollouts o Training for all company initiatives that impact operations: POS/IT, Culinary, Operations, Sales and Marketing, Human Resources, Accounting/Payroll • Ensure each newly hired manager is prepared and receives the onboarding, orientation, and training necessary to ensure their success. Escalate any issues that may arise. • Review training initiatives for content, communication, and process gaps and develop solutions to ensure maximum impact and effectiveness. • Partner with all stakeholders to ensure training and operational execution issues are prioritized correctly to ensure smooth implementation to the field teams. • Work closely with field leadership to identify opportunities for improvement across all areas and participate in the development of systemic solutions. • Participate and cross-train in other training initiatives as assigned. Communications: • Lead the preparation of routine and ad hoc communication pieces that effectively communicate information to field employees. This includes, but is not limited to daily, weekly, and monthly field updates, coordination of restaurant conference calls and meetings and their respective messaging, menu implementation, and other initiatives that impact all restaurants and employees. • Ensure website and dashboard reflect any necessary information or messaging related to company initiatives. • Participate in other communications initiatives as assigned.
Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field. • 3-5 years of progressively responsible and related experience in the areas of training program writing and design, preferably in a multi-location restaurant organization. • Experience designing and delivering training programs. • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills. • Technical systems proficiency in Microsoft Office programs • Graphics experience to design posters, online learning tools, and training materials • Mature, professional presence and demeanor, and the ability to lead as a role model.
