    Job Description

    OVERVIEW

    This position will collect delinquent loan, credit card and negative share accounts in a shared service environment. The primary goal is to minimize loan losses for all S3 partner credit unions.

    The Collector is an entry level position and will act to assist members in finding solutions to their financial difficulties while protecting the S3 partner credit unions from financial loss.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Contact members to cure loan, credit card and negative share delinquency
    • Assist members in finding solutions to the issue(s) that are causing their loans, credit card accounts or negative share accounts to be delinquent
    • Meet or exceed all service level agreements
    • Ensure attainment of predetermined delinquency and charge off goals established by the S3 member credit unions
    • Comply with all State and Federal collection laws and regulations, as well as S3 policies and procedures
    • Responsible for compliance with all investor (i.e.: Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae) requirements and regulations
    • Attain or exceed all Servicing Department service level agreement goals
    • Work in collaboration and partnership with other team members
    • Serve as back-up for other collection functions as necessary
    • All other duties as assigned
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • 2 years collection experience, preferably in a bank and/or credit union collection environment
    • Experience with Microsoft office is required
    • Must be versed in State and Federal collection laws and regulations, including laws and regulations governing third-party collection agencies
    • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Must be able to negotiate and resolve member issues in a professional manner
    • Fluency in Spanish preferred
    • Previous auto dialer experience preferred
    • Must be able to prioritize workload based on mandatory requirements and member service level agreements
    • Strong analytical skills required with a high degree of accuracy
    • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
    • Ability to multi-task in other areas of the unit
    • Must possess a positive attitude and team oriented approach
